Printed circuit boards - there are a range of organisations that provide insight and guidance into WEEE recycling

There are a range of European and international industry organisations and European government departments that provide a helpful range of guidance, comment and resources relating to electronics recycling.

The European Electronics Recyclers Association - EERA is a non-profit organisation that promotes the interest of recycling companies who are treating waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Europe.

The Europa website is a source of information on European legislation, including the WEEE directive.

Belgium: Waste management is administered by The Public Waste Agency of Flanders

Germany: The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety oversees environmental issues.

Netherlands: Guidance on e-waste legislation is provided by The Dutch Ministry for the Environment

Sweden: The Swedish Environment Protection Agency provides guidance on implementation of EU e-waste legislation and eco-friendly recycling in Sweden

UK: The Environment Agency is the leading public body responsible for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales and has some useful guidance on e-waste issues. In Scotland the Scottish Environment Protection Agency advises on e-recycling matters.

The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) represents the £3.5billion UK metal recycling sector - a globally competitive industry supplying environmentally-friendly raw material to metals manufacturers.

The Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER) is a source of knowledge and expertise on recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The Bureau of International Recycling is an international trade federation representing the world’s recycling industry, covering in particular ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper and textiles.
