Sims Metal Management, the parent company of Sims Recycling Solutions, has been listed as one of the Global Top 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for the third year in a row. The list, compiled by sustainable business publication Corporate Knights, was announced at the 2011 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Universal mobile phone chargers make sense

Sims Recycling Solutions welcomes the news that the EU has finally approved the introduction into the European market of a universal mobile phone charger. The harmonisation of standards for the manufacture of universal phone chargers means that manufacturers can now sell phones that do not require a unique charging device. This will eliminate a significant volume of electronic waste which is generated by out of date equipment.
